What is Rapaflo?
Alpha-adrenergic (AL-fa ad-ren-ER-jik) blocker Rapaflo (silodosin)
Rapaflo eases urination by relaxing the muscles in the prostate and bladder neck.
Rapaflo is a medication that helps men with benign prostatic hyperplasia improve their urinating (enlarged prostate).
Rapaflo is available in hard gelatin cspsules in dosages of 4 mg and 8 mg.
If you have severe kidney or liver disease, you should not use Rapaflo.
Rapaflo should not be taken with related medications as alfuzosin, doxazosin, prazosin, tamsulosin, or terazosin.
Before taking this medicine
You should not take Rapaflo if you are allergic to silodosin, or if you have: acute hepatitis; or severe renal dysfunction
antiviral medicine for HIV or hepatitis C – boceprevir, cobicistat, dasabuvir, elvitegravir, indinavir, lopinavir/ritonavir, nelfinavir, ombitasvir, paritaprevir saquinavir, telaprevir, or tipranavir; antibiotic – clarithromycin, telithromycin; antifungal medicine
To make sure Rapaflo is safe for you, tell your doctor if you have ever had:
low blood pressure; kidney illness (or if you’re on dialysis); heart disease; prostate cancer; a condition that requires the use of a diuretic or “water pill”; or if you’re on a low-salt diet.
How should I take Rapaflo?
Rapaflo should be taken exactly as directed by your doctor. Follow your prescription’s instructions to the letter. Your doctor may adjust your dose from time to time to ensure you get the optimal outcomes. Use this medicine only as directed. Do not use it in bigger or lesser amounts or for longer than recommended.
Rapaflo side effects
If you have hives, difficulty breathing, or swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat as a result of an allergic response to Rapaflo, seek immediate medical attention.
Common Rapaflo side effects may include:
dizziness, as if you’re about to faint out; headache; diarrhea; abnormal ejaculation; or a stuffy nose and sinus pain.
