Amlodipine Besylate, Atorvastatin Calcium

What is Caduet?
Caduet is a drug that combines amlodipine and atorvastatin. Atorvastatin belongs to a class of medications known as HMG CoA reductase inhibitors, or “statins.” Atorvastatin lowers “bad” cholesterol (low-density lipoprotein, or LDL) and triglyceride levels in the blood while raising “good” cholesterol levels (high-density lipoprotein, or HDL).

If you have liver illness, you should avoid Caduet.
Amlodipine and atorvastatin can damage or induce birth abnormalities in an unborn child. If you’re expecting a child, don’t use it. If you become pregnant while using this medication, stop taking it immediately and notify your doctor.
While taking Caduet, do not breastfeed.

Before taking this medicine

If you are allergic to amlodipine (Norvasc) or atorvastatin (Lipitor), or if you have liver disease, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you should not use Caduet.
While taking Caduet, do not breastfeed your kid.
If you have ever had renal disease, heart disease, muscle discomfort or weakness, diabetes, a thyroid issue, or if you consume more than two alcoholic beverages each day, tell your doctor.

How should I take Caduet?
Caduet should be taken exactly as directed by your doctor. Read all drug guides or instruction sheets and follow all guidelines on your prescription label. Your doctor may adjust your dose from time to time. Follow the medication’s instructions to the letter.
This medicine should be taken at the same time every day, with or without food.

What to avoid?
If you’re taking nitroglycerin for chest pain, don’t quit while you’re on Caduet.
Caduet will not work as well if you eat foods heavy in fat or cholesterol.
