WHAT IS SAXAGLIPTIN?
In individuals with type 2 diabetes, saxagliptin is used in conjunction with diet and exercise to enhance blood sugar management. Type 1 diabetes is not treated with saxagliptin. Other diabetes drugs are sometimes used with saxagliptin.
WARNINGS
If you have diabetic ketoacidosis, you should not use saxagliptin (call your doctor for treatment with insulin).
OVERDOSE

HOW SHOULD I TAKE SAXAGLIPTIN?
Read all drug guides or instruction sheets and follow all guidelines on your prescription label. Your doctor may adjust your dose from time to time. Follow the medication’s instructions to the letter.
Your blood sugar levels will need to be monitored on a regular basis, and you may require further blood tests at your doctor’s office.
SAXAGLIPTIN SIDE EFFECTS
If you develop hives, a purple or red skin rash that spreads and causes blistering and peeling, difficulty breathing, or swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or neck, get emergency medical attention.
CALL YOUR DOCTOR AT ONCE IF YOU HAVE:
- joint discomfort that is severe or persistent;
- When you urinate, you may experience pain or a burning sensation; or Shortness of breath (even when lying down), feeling weak or exhausted, rapid weight gain, and swelling (particularly in your feet, legs, or belly) are all symptoms of cardiac problems.

HOW TO STORAGE
Store at room temperature away from light and moisture. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep all medications away from children and pets.
