Purpose of Relvar Ellipta
Relvar Ellipta is a drug containing the active ingredients fluticasone furoate and vilanterol. Regular asthma in undertreated adults and children aged 12 years and older despite treatment with other asthma drugs called corticosteroids and other asthma drugs called ‘short-acting beta 2 agonists.
Relvar Ellipta Uses
Relvar Ellipta is also used to relieve symptoms of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It is used to relieve symptoms in adults with a history of exacerbations (relapses) of COPD despite regular treatment. COPD is a long-term condition in which the airways and air sacs of the lungs are damaged or blocked, leading to difficulty breathing.
How do you use a Relvar Ellipta
Relvar Ellipta requires a prescription. Available as an inhalation powder in a portable inhaler. A certain amount of the drug is administered with each inhalation. Relvar Ellipta 92/22 micrograms (fluticasone furoate 92 micrograms and vilanterol 22 micrograms) can be used to treat asthma and COPD, but Relvar Ellipta 184/22 micrograms (fluticasone furoate 184 micrograms and vilanterol 22 micrograms) Gram) is only available for the treatment of asthma.
Relvar Ellipta Dosage
The recommended dose is one inhalation per day. In treating asthma, a patient may be started on his Relvar Ellipta 92/22 micrograms or Relvar Ellipta 184/22 micrograms, depending on previous therapy. High-intensity inhalers can be used in patients who started on low-intensity inhalers and whose asthma is not well controlled. Please see the leaflet for details.
Relvar Ellipta Side Effects
The most common side effects of Relvar Ellipta (which may affect more than 1 in 10 people) are Headache and nasopharyngitis (inflammation of the nose and throat). More serious side effects including pneumonia and fractures (seen in up to 1 in 10) are reported more frequently in patients
Relvar Ellipta Storage
If refrigerated, allow the inhaler to come to room temperature for at least 1 hour before using. Keep away from children and don’t store above 25°C temperature.
