How do you use a Propranalol Oral
Take this medicine by mouth, usually 2 to 4 times a day, as directed by your doctor. Take this medicine before meals (before bed if you take it four times a day). Measure liquid medicine with a spoon or scale. Do not use a household spoon as it may not give the correct dose. Use this medicine regularly for maximum benefit.
Do not use it to treat chest pain or migraines. Use other medicines (such as nitroglycerin tablets under the tongue for chest pain or sumatriptan for migraines) to relieve sudden attacks as directed by your doctor. If you are also taking certain cholesterol-lowering medications (bile acid-binding resins such as cholestyramine or colestipol), take propranolol at least 1 hour before or at least 4 hours after these medications. Adult (18+) Dosage A typical dosage is he takes 10-30 mg 3-4 times a day before meals and before bed.
Dosage for children (0-17 years old) Propranolol has not been proven to be safe or effective in children under the age of 18.
Propranalol Oral Side Effects
As your body adjusts to the medicine, you may experience dizziness, lightheadedness, or fatigue. You may also experience nausea/vomiting, stomach pain, blurred vision, trouble sleeping, and abnormal dreams.
To reduce the risk of dizziness or lightheadedness, get up slowly when standing up from a sitting or lying position.
This medicine reduces blood flow to your hands and feet and you may feel cold. Smoking can enhance this effect. Dress warmly and avoid smoking.
