Purpose of Pariet

Rabeprazole, sold under brand names such as Aciphex, is a drug that lowers stomach acid. Used to treat excessive stomach acid production such as gastric ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux disease, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.

Pariet Uses
Rabeprazole belongs to a group of medicines known as proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). Rabeprazoleworks by slowing or preventing the production of stomach acid. Rabeprazole is used to treat and maintain the healing of (GERD) gastroesophageal reflux disease. It is also used to treat symptoms of non-erosive reflux disease (NERD) such as heartburn and belching.

How do you use Pariet

Adult

In general, take 1 tablet at the same time each day.

The dose of Pariet tablets is usually 20mg but varies from 10mg to 40mg per day depending

on the condition being treated and its severity.

The usual treatment for Helicobacter pylori infection in combination with antibiotics (clarithromycin and amoxicillin) is 20 mg tablets taken twice daily, morning and evening, for 7 days.

Child

Pariet should not be administered to children under the age of 18. The safety and efficacy of Pariet in children have not been established.

Pariet Dosage

For the treatment of non-erosive reflux disease (NERD), the recommended adult dose of rabeprazole is 10 mg to 20 mg once daily for up to 4 weeks.

For the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) associated with esophagitis, the recommended adult dose of rabeprazole is 20 mg once daily. The recommended dose for an adult to maintain long-term healing from her GERD is 10 mg to 20 mg once daily. The usual duration of treatment for GERD is 4 to 8 weeks.

Side effects of Pariet are generally not serious, but some common side effects affect 1-10% of people.

Pariet Storage

Pariet Tablets are packaged in double-sided aluminum blister strips. Do not remove Pariet Tablets from the blister pack until use. If you take it out of the blister, it may not store well.
