BYSTOLIC (NEBIVOLOL)

 

Bystolic (Nebivolol) belongs to the class of medications called selective beta-blockers. It is used alone or with diuretics (water pills) or angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors to treat mild to moderately high blood pressure. It is believed to decrease blood pressure by relaxing the muscles surrounding the blood vessels allowing blood to flow more easily, reduce the heart rate and reduce the production of chemicals in the kidney that are responsible for causing increased blood pressure.

Nebivolol is used to treat high blood pressure. Lowering high blood pressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems.This medication belongs to a class of drugs known as beta blockers. It works by blocking the action of certain natural substances in your body, such as epinephrine, on the heart and blood vessels. This effect lowers heart rate, blood pressure, and strain on the heart.

 

HOW TO USE

 

Take this medication by mouth with or without food as directed by your doctor, usually once daily. The dosage is based on your medical condition and response to treatment. Use this medication regularly to get the most benefit from it. To help you remember, take it at the same time each day. It may take several weeks before you get the full benefit of this drug. Keep taking this medication even if you feel well. Most people with high blood pressure do not feel sick. Tell your doctor if you do not get better or if you get worse (blood pressure readings remain high or increase).

 

SIDE EFFECTS

 

Bystolic (Nebivolol) oral tablet may cause tiredness. Avoid driving or using heavy machinery until you know how this drug affects you. This drug can also cause other side effects. Common side effects that can occur with nebivolol include: dizziness, tiredness, a slower heart rate, headache, diarrhea, nausea. BRIMONIDINE P EYE DROPS

 

are used alone or together with other medicines to lower pressure inside the eye that is caused by open-angle glaucoma or ocular (eye) hypertension. This medicine is an alpha-adrenergic agonist. This eye drop is also used to relieve redness of the eye caused by minor eye irritations. The Alphagan P brand of this medicine is available only with a prescription. The Lumify brand of brimonidine ophthalmic is available without a prescription, and is used to relieve eye redness and irritation. Alphagan P is for use in adults and children as young as 2 years old. Lumify is for use in adults and children who are at least 5 years old.

 

BEFORE TAKING BRIMONIDINE EYE DROP

 

You should not use brimonidine ophthalmic if you are allergic to it. Tell your doctor if you have ever had: heart problems, circulation problems; coronary artery disease (clogged arteries); low blood pressure; depression; or Raynaud’s syndrome, Buerger disease.

 

HOW TO USE

 

To apply eye drops, wash your hands first. To avoid contamination, do not touch the dropper tip or let it touch your eye or any other surface. If you are wearing contact lenses, remove them before using this medication. 

 

OVERDOSE

 

If this medicine is swallowed, it may cause injury. Call 911 if someone has overdosed and is experiencing serious symptoms such as passing out or having problems breathing. Otherwise, contact a poison control center as soon as possible.

 

STORAGE

 

Store away from light and moisture at room temperature. Keep out of the bathroom. All drugs should be kept out of reach of children and pets.

 

SIDE EFFECTS

 

Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficult breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. HOW CAN I STORE THIS MEDICATION?

Brimonidine P eye drops as a solution (liquid) to instill in the eyes. It is usually instilled in the affected eye(s) three times a day. Use brimonidine eye drops at around the same times every day, and try to space your 3 daily doses about 8 hours apart. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Use brimonidine eye drops exactly as directed. Do not use more or less of them or use them more often than prescribed by your doctor. Brimonidine P eye drops may control your condition, but will not cure it. Continue to use brimonidine eye drops even if you feel well. Do not stop using brimonidine eye drops without talking to your doctor. Stop using Brimonidine P eye drops if your eyes become swollen, painful, or have a discharge. See your doctor as soon as possible. Follow all directions on your medicine label and package. Tell each of your healthcare providers about all your medical conditions, allergies, and all medicines you use.

USES

 

Naproxen is used to relieve pain from various conditions such as headache, muscle aches, tendonitis, dental pain, and menstrual cramps. It also reduces pain, swelling, and joint stiffness caused by arthritis, bursitis, and gout attacks. This medication is known as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by blocking your body’s production of certain natural substances that cause inflammation.

 

PRIOR TO TAKE THIS MEDICATION

 

Naproxen may also cause stomach or intestinal bleeding, which can be fatal. These conditions can occur without warning while you are using this medicine, especially in older adults. You should not use naproxen if you are allergic to it, or if you have ever had an asthma attack or severe allergic reaction after taking aspirin or an NSAID

DESCRIPTION

 

Alphagan P (brimonidine) reduces the amount of fluid in the eye, which decreases pressure inside the eye. It is a prescription eye drop used to reduce pressure inside the eyes in people with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. Alphagan P is for use in adults and children as young as 2 years old. 

 

PRIOR TAKING THIS MEDICATION

 

You should not use Alphagan P if you are allergic to brimonidine. To make sure Alphagan P is safe for you, tell your doctor if you have ever had: heart problems, circulation problems; coronary artery disease (clogged arteries); low blood pressure; depression; or Raynaud’s syndrome, Buerger disease. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breast-feeding. 

 

USES

 

This medication is used to treat open-angle glaucoma or high fluid pressure in the eye. Lowering high fluid pressure in the eye reduces the risk of vision loss, nerve damage, or blindness. This medication lowers pressure by allowing better fluid drainage from within the eye and also by reducing the amount of fluid formed in the eye. It is known as an alpha agonist.This drug is not recommended for use in children less than 2 years of age due to an increased risk of serious side effects such as very slowed breathing. Ask the doctor or pharmacist for details.

 

HOW TO USE ALPHAGAN P

 

To apply eye drops, wash your hands first. To avoid contamination, do not touch the dropper tip or let it touch your eye or any other surface.

 

If you are wearing contact lenses, remove them before using this medication. After applying this medication, wait at least 15 minutes before putting in your contact lens.

MISSED DOSE

 

If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose. Use your next dose at the regular time. Do not double the dose to catch up.

 

STORAGE

 

Keep away from light and moisture at room temperature, between 59 and 77 degrees F (15-25 degrees C). Keep out of the bathroom. Keep all medicines away from children and pets.

 

WHAT IS THE INITIAL REACTION AFTER USING ALPHAGAN P?

 

Alphagan P Ophthalmic Solution may cause blurring of your vision for a short time just after its use. Do not drive until your vision is clear. It may also cause temporary burning or itching sensation in the eye. Inform your doctor if this does not go away.

 

WHAT OTHER DRUGS WILL AFFECT ALPHAGAN P?

 

Using Alphagan P with other drugs that make you drowsy can worsen this effect. Ask your doctor before using opioid medication, a sleeping pill, a muscle relaxer, or medicine for anxiety or seizures. Tell your doctor about all your other medicines, especially: an antidepressant; or heart or blood pressure medication.

DESCRIPTION

 

Estradiol is a type of estrogen — a hormone that plays an important role in the female body. It is used to treat menopause symptoms such as hot flashes and vaginal changes, and to prevent osteoporosis (bone loss) in menopausal women. USES

 

This medication is a female hormone. It is used by women to help reduce symptoms of menopause (such as hot flashes, vaginal dryness).

 

FORMS OF ESTRADIOL

 

Estradiol is available in several forms. Tablets, micronized: 0.5mg, 1mg, 2mg; Vaginal cream: 0.01%; Continuous release skin patch: 14 mcg/day, 0.025 mg/day, 0.0375 mg/day, 0.05 mg/day, 0.1 mg/day, 0.06 mg/day, 0.075 mg/day; Topical emulsion: 4.35 mg/1.74 g; Topical Gel: 0.25 mg/0.25 g, 0.5 mg/0.5 g, 1 mg/g; Intramuscular oil: 5 mg/mL, 10 mg/mL, 20 mg/mL, 40 mg/mL; Vaginal Ring: 0.05 mg/24 hr, 0.1 mg/24 hr.

 

WHAT SHOULD YOU KNOW BEFORE TAKING?

 

You should not use this medicine if you are allergic to estradiol, or if you have: unusual vaginal bleeding that has not been checked by a doctor; liver disease; a history of heart attack, stroke, or blood clot; an increased risk of having blood clots due to a heart problem or a hereditary blood disorder; or a history of hormone-related cancer, or cancer of the breast, uterus/cervix, or vagina. Do not use estradiol if you are pregnant

 

HOW TO USE

 

Take this medication by mouth with or without food as directed by your doctor. You may take it with food or right after a meal to prevent stomach upset. If you are taking the extended-release tablets, do not crush, chew, or dissolve them. Doing so can release all of the drug at once, increasing the risk of side effects. Also, do not split extended-release tablets unless instructed or confirmed with your Doctor. Swallow the whole or split tablet without crushing or chewing.

 

COMMON ESTRADIOL SIDE EFFECTS

Ophthalmic cyclosporine is used to increase tear production in people with dry eye disease. Cyclosporine is in a class of medications called immunomodulators. It works by decreasing swelling in the eye to allow for tear production. Restasis ophthalmic emulsion is a prescription eye drop that helps patients increase their eyes’ natural ability to produce tears. It is used to treat a type of chronic dry eye condition caused by inflammation.

 

HOW TO USE CYCLOSPORINE EYE DROPS?

 

Follow all directions on your prescription label and read all medication guides or instruction sheets. Use the medicine exactly as directed. Use the medicine about every 12 hours. Remove contact lenses first. Wash your hands before using eye medication. To apply the eye drops: Tilt your head back slightly and pull down your lower eyelid to create a small pocket. Hold the dropper above the eye and squeeze a drop into this pocket. Close your eyes for 1 or 2 minutes. Turn the Restasis bottle upside down a few times to gently mix the medicine before each use. Use only the number of drops your doctor has prescribed. Wait at least 15 minutes before inserting contact lenses or using artificial tears. Do not touch the tip of the eye dropper or place it directly on your eye. A contaminated dropper can infect your eye, which could lead to serious vision problems.

WHY IS ALBUTEROL SULFATE USED?

 

Albuterol is a prescription drug. It’s available as an inhalation suspension, nebulizer solution, inhalation powder, immediate-release tablet, extended-release tablet, or oral syrup. This drug is used to treat or prevent bronchospasm, which is tightening and swelling of the muscles around the airways. It’s used in people with asthma (reversible obstructive airway disease). It’s also used to prevent exercise-induced bronchospasm.

 

HOW DOES IT WORK?

 

Albuterol is a type of bronchodilator drug. It works by dilating the airways, making it easier to breathe for people who experience bronchospasm, or tightening of the airways. Albuterol sulfate (AccuNeb) is a liquid form of this medication. A nebulizer is a machine that turns liquid medicine into a fine mist. A person breathes this mist through a mouthpiece or face mask. These devices can make it easier to administer medications to a child. However, some younger children may find wearing a mask distressing, causing them to cry. This will make the nebulizer less effective. Nebulizers come in different shapes and sizes, with some bulkier than others. Some are battery powered and others come with a power cord. People may notice some nebulizers are noisier than others. 

 

HOW TO USE?

 

Use albuterol inhalation exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Follow all directions on your prescription label. Do not use albuterol inhalation in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended. Read all patient information, medication guides, and instruction sheets provided to you. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions. You may need to prime your albuterol inhaler device before the first use. Your medicine comes with directions for priming if needed. WHO SHOULD NOT USE ABUTEROL?

 

Albuterol may not be suitable for some people. Before using albuterol with a nebulizer, a person should make their doctor aware of any underlying health conditions to ensure this medication does not interact with them. It is especially important to notify a doctor about: heart disease, high blood pressure, seizures, hyperthyroidism, diabetes. If a person could have one of these conditions, they should ask a doctor to perform diagnostic tests to rule them out.

 

CAN PERSON GET ADDICTED TO ALBUTEROL?

 

A person cannot develop an addiction to albuterol. However, people may feel dependent on albuterol if their symptoms are severe. If this is the case, people should speak with a doctor about how to better control their symptoms. Some people need more than one type of medication to control asthma. Inhaling too much albuterol can cause: dry mouth,  Headache, nervousness, dizziness, fast heartbeat, chest pain, seizures. If someone has taken too much albuterol or experiences these symptoms after using it, they should call 911 or go straight to the emergency room.

STORAGE
