If you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant during treatment, tell your doctor before taking this drug. It’s unclear whether besifloxacin travels through breast milk or if it could affect a nursing baby.

How should I use Besivance?

Follow your doctor’s instructions for using Besivance eye drops. Read all drug guides or instruction sheets and follow all guidelines on your prescription label.
To use Besivance eye drops, follow these instructions:
Before each usage, turn the bottle upside down and shake it once.
To make a little pocket, tilt your head back slightly and draw down your lower eyelid. Keep the dropper tip down and hold it above your eye.
As you squeeze out a drop, look up and away from the dropper, then close your eye.
To avoid the liquid from draining into your tear duct, gently press your finger to the inside corner of your eye (near your nose) for about 1 minute.
Allow the dropper tip to not come into contact with any surface, including your eyes or hands. If the dropper becomes contaminated, it may induce an infection in your eye, resulting in vision loss or serious eye injury.
