Amlodipine is used alone or in combination with other medications to treat high blood pressure in adults and children 6 years and older. Tell your doctor if you have ever had:
kidney disease; liver disease; coronary artery disease; angina (chest pain), congestive heart failure; high levels of potassium in your blood; if you are on a low-salt diet; if you are 75 years or older; or if you recently had a heart attack. Do not use if you are pregnant. Stop using the medicine and tell your doctor right away if you become pregnant. Olmesartan can cause injury or death to the unborn baby if you take the medicine during your second or third trimester. You should not breastfeed while using this medicine.
HOW TO USE
Take this medication by mouth with or without food as directed by your doctor, usually once daily. The dosage is based on your medical condition and response to treatment. Take this medication regularly to get the most benefit from it. To help you remember, take it at the same time each day. Keep taking this medication even if you feel well. Most people with high blood pressure do not feel sick. It may take up to 2 weeks before you get the full benefit of this drug. SIDE EFFECTS
Common side effects of Amlodipine-Olmesartan include:
- Low blood pressure, flushing of the cheeks, palpitations (a pounding or racing heartbeat), drowsiness, dizziness or orthostasis (feeling lightheaded when rising from a sitting or lying down position) and edema.
